Congratulations to the 'Little Big Brains' team who were shortlisted for their excellent project by the Engineers Ireland judges. This is a significant achievement considering there were hundreds of projects entered by schools all over the country. The judges only selected the projects that they felt demonstrated best key engineering principles. This project was considered as one of the top 10% in the country. Well done to the children and their teacher Mr. Reen.
This year, pupils from 3rd and 4th class are partaking in the STEPS Young Engineer award. The objective is to design a piece of engineering that will assist the local community/environment in some way. The children are working hard at building their prototypes at the moment!
We were delighted to receive a visit from a STEPS engineer this week who assisted us with our projects and answered some of our questions. We also learned all about the different types of engineering!
