Our School

Coachford N.S. is a co-educational school located in the village of Coachford in the scenic Lee Valley. The school has a long tradition of educational excellence and we provide a broad and balanced curriculum with opportunities for class, group and independent work. The school follows the Revised Primary School Curriculum which includes Maths, English, Irish, S.E.S.E. (History, Geography, Science), Music, Visual Arts, S.P.H.E. (Social  Personal Health Education), Drama and Physical Education. A Whole School Evaluation conducted in 2013 by Inspectors from the Department of Education and Science, commended the high standard of teaching and learning at the school.

Coachford National School is the largest of three national schools in the parish of Aghabullogue. There are seven teachers at the school and we also have two special needs assistants, a secretary and a caretaker. There are also two travelling teachers who take speech and drama and gymnastics during the school year.
